About Wafa's Kitchen

The Story Behind Wafa’s Kitchen

Every great dish has a story, and Wafa’s begins in Iraq, where a lifelong love for cooking first took root.

At just six years old, Wafa began shadowing her mother in the kitchen, watching closely as she prepared traditional Chaldean meals. She learned by observing, helping, and paying attention to the little details that make a dish truly special. Those early moments became the foundation of a passion that would stay with her for a lifetime.

Over the next six decades, Wafa continued to perfect her craft, preparing delicious Chaldean food with the experience, patience, and dedication that only years of cooking can bring. What began as a childhood fascination grew into a lifelong commitment to creating meals worth sharing.

Today, Wafa lives in West Bloomfield, Michigan, carrying the flavors and traditions she grew up with into every dish she prepares. After more than 60 years of cooking, she believes her food deserves to be shared beyond her own kitchen—not simply as something to eat, but as a way for others to experience the care, tradition, and expertise behind every meal.

That is why Wafa’s Kitchen was created.

Wafa’s Kitchen is an opportunity to share decades of culinary experience with more people, bringing the richness of traditional Chaldean cooking to the table, one dish at a time. Every recipe reflects years of learning, practice, and a deep appreciation for the food that has been part of her life since childhood.

For Wafa, cooking has never been just about preparing food. It is about preserving Chaldean traditions, bringing people together, and creating meals that leave a lasting impression.

With more than 60 years of experience behind her, Wafa is ready to share what a lifetime in the kitchen can create.

Welcome to Wafa’s Kitchen. A lifetime of cooking, made to be shared.
